International Women’s Day (IWD) on Sunday 8th March is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality.

I would like to celebrate one of our Charity Ambassadors Kacey Ainsworth who shares an inspirational quote for #InternationalWomensDay:

‘It is important to recognise the actions of women. We are half the planet but seldom are our voices heard or our actions and accomplishments recognised hence international women’s day.  One day to celebrate what is it to be a women in a male dominated world.’

Please also see messages from good friends of UK Autism Charity Anna Kennedy Online from Denise Welch, Dr Pam Spurr, and Vicki Michelle.

IWD is annually held on March 8 to celebrate women’s achievements throughout history and across nations. The event has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people.

Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere. IWD is not a specific group or organisation.
