The final chapter in Adam Lanceley’s remarkable journey of musical and personal discovery has arrived. Having defied incredible odds and released an astounding 12 albums in just 11 years, Adam is now taking a well-deserved break. His swan song is a ten-track project that intimately traces his battle with deep depression, the arduous process of finding the right combination of medication to make life manageable, and his diagnosis of posttraumatic stress disorder.
Following multiple lockdowns and the rekindling of his passion for life, Adam now believes he is ready to appreciate life without using music as a shield. But true to his never-give-up attitude, he remains open to the possibility of returning to music sometime in the distant future.
Adam’s journey has been marked by adversity since childhood. Following a near-fatal accident that left doctors doubting he would ever walk or talk again, he not only defied their predictions but went on to run marathons, climb mountains, and release a prolific collection of riveting music.
His lyrics and vocal delivery convey the emotional arc of his journey, from an initial inability to cope with his struggles, through a dark period following the release of his second album, and finally to a more hopeful state of mind with “Over The Horizon.”
The songs on this album are not only inspired by Adam’s personal experiences but also reflect the issues and events that were relevant at the time of writing. “Over The Horizon” serves as the triumphant finale to an emotional and psychological odyssey. The album cover, designed to symbolize new beginnings and hope for the future, perfectly encapsulates this sentiment.
Adam’s previous album, “Welcome to the Next Century”, garnered international acclaim, with airplay across the UK, USA, Canada, China, Australia, and New Zealand. The success of his follow-up, “Sweeter Than Honey”, and appearances on Sky further cemented his connection with audiences worldwide.
This final album is inspired by and dedicated to the same person who inspired his previous three albums –a girl who transformed Adam’s perspective on life. The first two albums featured the dedications “For You X” and “Thank You X” in the artwork, and the third bore the dedication in its title, “Sweeter than Honey.” For this final album, the tribute is subtly embedded in the release date.
Listeners can immerse themselves in the heartfelt and poignant world of “Over The Horizon” starting 6th April 2023, available on all major streaming platforms.
